Just read Trish Stratus's myspace blog about Victoria's departure from the WWE. Even if I'm the only one who hasn't read it yet, it holds true to every word.
Reading this quickly made me remember why she's one of my biggest influences to make it in the wrestling world.

the women have yet again turned into extras, and they definitely need more wiggle room to develop their characters. please, trish - offer to take over women's character development in the WWE.
I couldn't help but reminisce about the days when the roster of women were wrestlers, not bikini models. Granted, there are a couple women in the company today that have the talent - Michelle McCool ( surprisingly, she's been the only diva searcher that I've ever enjoyed watching on the program ), Beth Pheonix, Nattie Neidhart, Melina, and Mickie, but in all honesty? If the WWE would take even a mere second to consider using these women as if they did back in the day, I think they'd raise the bar even higher than the past divas did.
I get so sick of turning the WWE on every Monday, Tuesday and Friday to botched spots from the girls that are wrestling now - that's another reason why I stand so strongly by my ideals that women belong in a wrestling ring just as much as men do. ( and I will punch Batista in the face just like Shelly..without a second thought ) They're not supposed to be fragile barbie dolls. They're supposed to be barbie dolls that can take it to the limit and put their necks on the line night in and night out. It's taking away from the entertainment value of even watching the Divas..they may as well just be infront of a camera taking pictures - WWE has made it seem that it's one of the only things that the divas are good for these days.
I was at a TNA show recently and heard a guy behind me ( DURING ANGEL'S MATCH, MIND YOU! ) talking about how women didn't belong in a wrestling ring. When I turned to ask him why, he had no good reason for saying it. He stumbled over his words for a minute before just saying "because they look better on a beach modelling bathing suits". It took everything I had not to splash the beer I was drinking all over that fuck's face. The WWE is making people believe that women are obsolete in the world, and I'm not speaking for anyone else ( but hopefully you all agree ) but I believe it's time for a change in WWE.
Seriously. Thus ends my rant. Thank you, Trish Stratus for making me into a rambling mess today.
PPS; oh yeah, merry christmas.
